Your days are numbered, DGP Nalin Prabhat warns terror supporters

Vows to uproot terrorism and its support network; calls for communal harmony, drug-free J&K

Srinagar, Oct 21: Jammu and Kashmir Police will track down those supporting terrorism and ensure they face the full force of law, Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat warned on Wednesday, asserting that the “days of terror supporters are numbered.”

Addressing a gathering on Police Commemoration Day 2026, DGP Prabhat, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), vowed to completely uproot terrorism and dismantle its support network in Jammu and Kashmir. “Our objective is clear: to identify and completely uproot terrorism and every element associated with terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.

Issuing a stern warning to terror supporters, the DGP said, “Even if you attempt to hide in the deepest corners of the earth, we will find you and ensure that you are punished under the law.”

He called for unity, mutual trust and communal harmony, urging people to remain vigilant against forces attempting to disturb peace and stability in the region.

“Unity in diversity is the identity of India and social harmony is an important foundation for the progress of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said, urging people to extend their support to the J&K Police, Army and other security forces in maintaining peace.

On social protection, the DGP stressed the need to prevent crimes against women and children, safeguard vulnerable sections of society and ensure timely justice for victims. He called for strengthening mechanisms to monitor and prevent such offences.

Calling for a drug-free Jammu and Kashmir, Prabhat said action against narcotics trafficking and the illegal drug trade must be intensified. “This is not merely a question of law and order. It is about protecting the future of our youth, the well-being of families and the moral strength of our society,” he said.

Paying tribute to police personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty, the DGP said the best tribute to the martyrs would be to build a safe, peaceful, harmonious and prosperous Jammu and Kashmir.

He also stressed the need to ensure the welfare and continued support of martyrs’ families.

The DGP commended the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Army and Central Armed Police Forces for their courage, dedication and commitment to duty, while wishing them success and safety in their operations.
