Reasi, Sept 14: Two people were killed and seven others injured after a passenger Matador overturned near the Bakkal Tunnel area of Reasi district on Monday, officials said.
An official told that، the Matador, bearing registration number JK14B-2973, was travelling from Bakkal towards Reasi when it overturned on the road near the tunnel.
He said two persons died in the accident, while seven others sustained injuries and their identities are being ascertained. “Police and rescue teams have reached the spot and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital for treatment,” the official said.
Meanwhile, police have initiated necessary proceedings.
Body fished out from Salal Dam Reasi
A dead body was recovered from the Salal Dam area of Reasi district on Monday, officials said.
An official told that the, body was spotted in the Salal Dam area by locals, following which the matter was brought to the notice of the concerned authorities.
He said that an investigation has been initiated, while the identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.
Meanwhile, the body has been shifted for necessary legal formalities.
