WildLife Department Catches One Among Two Leopards in South Kashmir

Shopian 3 March  : In the Heff shirmal area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district, a leopard was caught by the WildLife Department late last night on Tuesday after a rigorous effort from the department for at least one past month.

As per sources, the Kashmir News Bureau learned that two leopards were roaming in the villages of Litter, Niklora, Aglar, Heff and Shirmal for the last one month, which had caused inconvenience to the residents of the area in carrying out their daily affairs.

However, one of the leopards was caught after a department set the trap and the other one is yet to be captured.

The residents of the area said that their routine to take care of orchards was disrupted badly as the risk posed by the roaming of leopards was hovering on their heads.

They appealed to authorities to capture another one as soon as possible to prevent the orchards from getting damaged by the leopards, among which one is still at large. (KNB)
