FIFA Announces Special Championship Rings for World Cup Winners for the First Time
The FIFA World Cup 2026 champions will receive a special honour for the first time in the tournament’s history, with FIFA announcing that the winning squad will be presented with exclusive championship rings along with the traditional trophy and gold medals.
FIFA said the introduction of championship rings follows the tradition seen in major American sports and marks the first time a FIFA competition winner will receive such an award.
A total of 2,026 special rings will be produced to commemorate the 2026 World Cup. Of these, 30 rings will be reserved for the winning team’s players and officials, while the remaining 1,996 rings will be available to fans worldwide as officially licensed products.
Each ring will feature the FIFA World Cup trophy design on one side, while the identity of the winning team will be highlighted on the other side. Every ring will carry a unique number, a certificate of authenticity and a customised size for its recipient.
Immediately after the final, the winning captain and head coach will receive commemorative temporary rings, while the 30 permanent championship rings for the squad will be officially presented later at a special ceremony.
