Tensions between Iran and the United States have intensified further, with both countries continuing military operations, retaliatory strikes, economic measures, and issuing strong warnings. The situation surrounding the Strait of Hormuz, the Gulf region, and U.S. military installations has become increasingly serious.
According to international media reports, the United States announced the completion of its latest military operation against Iran. The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said that during a seven-hour operation, it targeted Iran’s coastal areas, naval facilities, drone bases, and air defense systems. According to the U.S. military, the objective of the operation was to reduce threats to commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and weaken Iran’s military capabilities. The United States also announced the reimposition of a naval blockade on Iran.
According to international media reports, the Iranian military claimed that approximately 13 missiles struck a military barracks in Bampur, located in Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan Province, during a U.S. attack. The strike reportedly killed seven military personnel, including active-duty and retired servicemen, while several others were injured and transferred to hospitals for treatment. Iranian media also reported explosions in several coastal areas near the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz.
Meanwhile, a mineral water factory in Dehloran, in Iran’s Ilam Province, was also hit in a missile strike. Local officials said the factory was targeted by three missiles. No casualties were reported, although authorities are still assessing the extent of the damage.
According to international media reports, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed it had launched missile and drone attacks on U.S. military facilities in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Jordan in retaliation for the American strikes. Iranian state media reported that the attacks targeted Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain, Ali Al Salem Air Base and the Mina Abdullah logistics center in Kuwait, and Al-Azraq Air Base in Jordan. However, the United States and the governments of the countries concerned had not issued an immediate official response to these claims.
According to international media reports, the IRGC also warned that the Strait of Hormuz would remain closed until the United States ends what it described as its “hostile actions.” The statement added that if Iran’s oil and gas exports continue to be blocked, other countries in the region would also be unable to export energy safely. It further stated that Iran would respond proportionately to any economic or military pressure imposed upon it.
Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump issued a fresh warning to Iran, saying that if Tehran does not return to the negotiating table, the United States could target Iranian power plants as early as next week. He said Washington would take all necessary measures to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons and did not completely rule out the possibility of a ground operation.
According to international media reports, economic pressure has also intensified alongside military action. U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced that more than $130 million worth of digital assets linked to Iran’s central bank had been frozen. According to U.S. officials, the move is aimed at disrupting Iran’s alleged illicit financial activities and preventing it from circumventing international sanctions.
Meanwhile, divisions have also emerged in Washington over U.S. policy toward Iran. Democratic senators have delayed progress on the annual defense policy bill, citing concerns over escalating tensions with Iran and the risk of a broader conflict. Lawmakers said the administration should first present a clear strategy on Iran and seek congressional approval before pursuing additional military spending or operations.

Political analysts believe the rapidly evolving situation in the Middle East could have far-reaching consequences not only for regional security but also for global energy supplies, maritime trade, and diplomatic stability.
