Srinagar, June 14,: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Crime Branch Kashmir on Saturday conducted searches at the office and residence of a senior health official as part of an ongoing investigation into the alleged manipulation of date-of-birth entries in government service records.
The searches were carried out at the office of the Deputy Chief Medical Officer (DCMO), Shopian, and at his residence in Thamuna area of Pulwama district in connection with a case registered under relevant provisions of law.
Officials said the investigation pertains to allegations of fraudulent insertion and alteration of date-of-birth entries in official service records with the objective of securing undue benefits.

The operation was carried out in accordance with legal procedures and in the presence of independent witnesses, officials said.
While officials did not disclose details of the material seized or examined during the searches, sources said the investigation is focused on establishing whether official records were altered in violation of service regulations.
