J&K Police Warn Job Seekers Against Fake Recruitment, Verification Scams

Srinagar, Aug 27: Jammu and Kashmir Police have cautioned job seekers against cyber fraudsters allegedly using fake recruitment processes, suspicious verification requests and identity-collection tactics to target candidates.
Police said scammers may create seemingly genuine hiring processes and then ask candidates to complete unusual verification procedures or share sensitive personal information under the pretext of recruitment.
Job seekers have been advised to verify the credentials of recruiters and companies before sharing any personal information and remain cautious about unusual verification requests during the hiring process.
Police also advised candidates to check official company websites, email domains and the presence of the recruiting organisation before responding to job offers.
Candidates have further been cautioned against instant selection offers and messages creating pressure or urgency to provide information or complete verification.
Police said genuine job opportunities should not pressure candidates into sharing sensitive information without proper verification. [KNT]
