Heavy Rain Forces Closure of Schools Across Doda, Most Parts of Kishtwar

Doda, July 29,: In view of the persistent heavy rainfall and deteriorating weather conditions, authorities on Wednesday ordered the closure of all government and private schools across Doda district and in most parts of Kishtwar district as a precautionary measure.

The decision has been taken to safeguard the safety and well-being of students, teaching staff and other school employees amid the continuing spell of adverse weather.

Officials said all educational institutions, both government and private, shall remain closed for the day in Doda district. Similar orders have also been issued for most parts of Kishtwar district in view of the prevailing weather conditions and the possibility of rain-triggered incidents.

The closure comes as the Chenab Valley continues to witness persistent heavy rainfall, raising concerns over landslides, flash floods, shooting stones and disruption of road connectivity.

Authorities have advised the public to remain vigilant, avoid unnecessary travel and follow official advisories until weather conditions improve. [KNT]
