Srinagar, July 18,: A senior official of the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) was found dead under suspicious circumstances at Sempora on the outskirts of Srinagar on Saturday, officials said.
According to officials, the victim allegedly died by suicide after hanging himself. Upon receiving information about the incident, a police team from Police Station Pantha Chowk rushed to the spot and took charge of the situation.
The body was shifted for medico-legal formalities, while police initiated proceedings to ascertain the circumstances leading to the death.
The exact reason behind the alleged suicide was not immediately known, and further investigation is underway. [KNT]
