Driver Injured as Goods Vehicle Overturns at Gund on Srinagar-Sonamarg Road

Ganderbal: A driver was injured after a goods vehicle carrying vegetables overturned at Gund along the Srinagar-Sonamarg road in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Saturday.

The vehicle, bearing registration number JK03N-2837, was on its way from Srinagar to Sonamarg when the driver reportedly lost control, causing it to overturn on the roadside. The impact left the driver injured, while vegetables loaded in the vehicle were scattered across the road.

The injured driver was administered first aid at the spot before being shifted to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

Soon after the accident, Station House Officer (SHO) Gund, Raees Ahmad, along with a police team, reached the spot to supervise rescue and traffic management.

Police have registered a case, and an investigation has been initiated to ascertain the cause of the accident. [KNT]
