
Srinagar, June 27: Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) on Saturday launched search operations at two locations in Srinagar and Ganderbal districts as part of an ongoing investigation, officials said.
A CIK team conducted a search at the residence of Riyaz Ahmad Beigh, son of Noor Mohammad Beigh, originally a resident of Dalal Mohalla, Maharaj Gunj, and presently residing at Hokarsar near Police Station Shalteng, where he has been living for the past 16 years.
Simultaneously, another CIK team, headed by Deputy Superintendent of Police, carried out a search at the residence of Syed Qalandar Shah, son of Barkat Shah, a resident of Chountwaliwar, Lar, in Ganderbal district.
Meanwhile, a separate CIK team also conducted a raid at the residence of Gulzar Ahmad Rather, son of Abdul Gani Rather, a resident of Nowgam, Verinag, in Anantnag district. Officials identified him as an Imam who has been associated with the local Phali Masjid since 2012.
Officials said the searches were underway when reports last came in. The purpose of the raids was not immediately disclosed.
