Srinagar, May 5,: A man was found dead in the Chodrigund area of Chadura in central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Tuesday, officials said.
The deceased has been identified as Abdul Ahad Wagay, son of Ghulam Hassan Wagay, a resident of Chodrigund, Chadura.
According to initial information, the body was spotted lying in the river by locals, who subsequently alerted the authorities. A police team reached the spot and took custody of the body.
The circumstances leading to the death were not immediately known, and officials said further investigation has been initiated to ascertain the cause of death.
The body is expected to be handed over to the family after completion of medico-legal formalities. [KNT]
