Media Has Lost Credibility, Operates Under Pressure, Says Farooq Abdullah

Srinagar, Feb 24,: National Conference president Farooq Abdullah on Tuesday alleged that media outlets in the country have lost credibility and are functioning under tremendous pressure.
He made the remarks while responding to a question from reporters regarding an upcoming Bollywood film in which Muslims have reportedly been portrayed negatively.
Abdullah said that a large section of the media no longer enjoys public trust. He alleged that media organisations are operating under government pressure and that people have begun to question the authenticity of what is being presented to them.
He further claimed that the foundation of many media narratives is based on falsehood and added that such portrayals contribute to mistrust and division in society. [KNT]
