Farooq Abdullah urges J&K students in Iran to return home

Srinagar, Feb 24: Farooq Abdullah on Tuesday urged students from Jammu and Kashmir currently in Iran to return home at the earliest, citing an official advisory, and also congratulated the J&K cricket team for qualifying for the Ranji Trophy final.

Addressing reporters here, the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference president said students should not delay their return.

“I want to tell students of J&K who are currently in Iran to come back as soon as possible because later you can’t come home. An advisory has already been issued, so they should return,” Abdullah said.

He, however, did not elaborate on the nature of the advisory.
The former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister also congratulated the J&K cricket team for entering the final of the Ranji Trophy.

“I want to congratulate the J&K cricket team for qualifying for the Ranji Trophy final and I wish they will win the final,” he said.

Abdullah also took a swipe at sections of the media, alleging that they were spreading misinformation.

“Media is dependent on falsehood and is running false narratives,” he said.(KNS)
