Rashid Rahil

It is difficult to describe a Perfect Spy Story. The “dagger and cloak” tales have always fascinated mankind because they hold an irresistible appeal due to the very intriguing nature of the business of intelligence.
A recently released book in this genre “Aman ke Farishtey” is an enthralling novel with an exciting story line which instantly establishes a strong emotional connect with the reader.
The book, written in Hindi , based in the Surankote area of Poonch district is an emotional narration of the experiences of a young Military Intelligence Officer Captain Ashish Chauhan who begins as a novice in the field of intelligence but soon masters the intricacies of the rules of the game .

The story is narrated in a very simple and lucid manner with very finely crafted characters. The personality of its key protagonist Captain Asish is indomitable and yet layered with human vulnerabilities which are displayed skilfully in the plot through an exciting turn of events. In his single minded focus of eliminating terrorists in his area, Captain Ashish is helped by a group of local villagers who gain his complete trust and even put their life in the line of fire while working with him.
The fast paced narration is laced with several interesting historical insights which makes it a truly gripping read.

The book has been written by Brigadier Sushil Tanwar, a decorated serving Army officer who is well reputed for his close relations with the people of J&K. This is his second book , the first one being “Mukhbir”, a critically acclaimed collection of short stories based in J & K.

In a very emotional gesture, he has dedicated the book to the memory of Shaheed Abdul Hamid , a young man from Murrah Village of Surankote who sacrificed his life in an encounter with terrorists.

The 172 pages long book has been published by Delhi based Rajpal and Sons. “Aman ke Farishtey” is available on Amazon, Flipkart and other e-commerce sites.
