Beerwah: A scooty rider sustained critical injuries in a road accident that occurred on Tuesday on the Beerwah–Arwah road after a collision with a Baleno car, officials said.
According to locals present at the scene, the impact of the collision was severe, leaving the scooty rider seriously injured.
Immediately after the accident, locals rushed to help and shifted the injured person to Sub-District Hospital Beerwah for urgent medical attention.
Hospital sources said the condition of the injured rider was critical at the time of admission. The identity of the injured person was not immediately known, and further medical details were awaited.
Police officials said they have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated an investigation to ascertain the cause of the accident. A case has been taken up, and traffic movement in the area was restored shortly after the incident.
Srinagar: An unidentified person lost his life after being struck by a Swift Dzire car in the Chanapora area of Srinagar, officials said on Tuesday.
According to police, the accident occurred when a Swift Dzire bearing registration number JK01AU/0385 hit the individual near Chanapora. The vehicle was reportedly driven by a local from the Zewan area in Srinagar.
The injured person sustained critical injuries in the incident and was immediately shifted to SMHS Hospital for medical treatment. However, despite efforts by doctors, the victim succumbed to his injuries at the hospital this afternoon.
The identity of the deceased could not be established at the time of filing this report.
Following the incident, police registered a case under FIR No. 16/2026 at Police Station Saddar under sections 281 and 125(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Further investigation into the circumstances leading to the accident has been taken up.
The body of the deceased has been kept for legal formalities, while efforts are underway to ascertain his identity.
