Flash CASO Launched in Abi Guzar Area of Srinagar

Srinagar, Feb 4,: A flash Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) was launched on Wednesday by Srinagar Police in coordination with personnel of 132 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force in the Abi Guzar area and its adjoining localities.

Officials said the joint operation was carried out as part of routine security measures to strengthen area domination and maintain vigilance in sensitive pockets of the city. Security personnel conducted searches at multiple locations, including commercial establishments and nearby residential stretches.

The operation was carried out in a calibrated manner, with movement regulated for a brief period to facilitate thorough checking. Officials said the exercise was aimed at deterring any potential threats and ensuring a sense of security among inhabitants.

No untoward incident was reported during the operation. Authorities said such area-based security drills are being conducted periodically in Srinagar as part of preventive measures to maintain law and order.

The security presence was later normalised after completion of the search exercise, with officials reiterating that cooperation of the public remains crucial for maintaining peace and stability in the city. [KNT]
