Security forces re-establish contact with militants in Rajouri under Operation Trashi-I

Rajouri:Security forces on Saturday re-established contact with militants during the ongoing joint counter-insurgency Operation Trashi-I in the general area of Dolgam in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri sector, officials said.

According to an official statement issued by the Indian Army’s White Knight Corps, the contact was re-established in the early hours of January 31 as part of a coordinated operation involving the Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the Central Reserve Police Force.

The statement said that intelligence inputs from multiple sources were carefully coordinated to provide actionable information for executing the operation on the ground. Based on these inputs, joint teams moved into the identified area and re-established contact with the hiding terrorists.

Security forces have established a cordon around the suspected area to prevent the militants from escaping, and search operations are currently in progress.

Additional reinforcements have been deployed to strengthen the cordon and ensure area domination.

Officials said the operation is being carried out with caution, keeping in view the terrain and the need to ensure the safety of civilians in nearby localities. No casualty figures or further operational details have been disclosed so far.

The White Knight Corps confirmed that the situation remains under close monitoring and further updates will be shared as the operation progresses. [KNT]
