‘Naya savera’ has broken out in J&K: LG Sinha

Govt committed to establish peace, make region prosperous; Operation Sindoor sent a clear message, terrorism won’t be tolerated; Pays tributes to Pahalgam terror victims, lauds security forces for eliminating perpetrators; Praises J&K Chief Minister for giving new dimension to Kashmir Marathon

Jammu:Asserting that ‘Naya Savera’ (new dawn) has broken out in Jammu and Kashmir, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday reiterated the government’s commitment to establish peace and make region prosperous.

Addressing the main Republic Day function in Jammu, LG Sinha, according to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) paid rich tributes to martyrs and victims of terrorism, natural calamities, and tragic incidents.

Saluting the courage and bravery of security forces, LG Sinha said, ” Operation Sindoor sent a clear message to the world that terrorism will not be tolerated under any circumstances.”

He praised the armed forces for eliminating Pakistani terrorists involved in the Pahalgam terror attack and paid homage to its victims, as well as those who lost their lives in the unfortunate Nowgam blast.

The Lieutenant Governor also acknowledged the suffering caused by recent natural calamities in the region, paying tributes to those who lost their lives. He expressed gratitude to the Security Forces, SDRF, and NDRF for their relentless rescue and relief operations during times of crisis.

Highlighting the development agenda, LG Sinha said the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is fully committed to transforming Jammu and Kashmir and contributing significantly to the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat by 2047.’

He emphasized that the region is witnessing a new era of peace, progress, and opportunity.

Tourism continues to play pivotal role in J&K’s economy

Speaking on tourism, LG Sinha said it continues to play a pivotal role in J&K’s economy. He noted that from January to November 2025, over 1 crore 61 lakh tourists visited the Union Territory, though the figure remains slightly lower than the previous year due to the impact of the Pahalgam terror attack and natural disasters. Despite these challenges, he said the government has continued its efforts to promote tourism and restore confidence among visitors.

Praises J&K Chief Minister for giving new dimension to Kashmir Marathon

He also praised initiatives that promote national unity and public participation, noting that the J&K Chief Minister’s participation in the Kashmir Marathon has added a new dimension to the event. The large-scale participation in the Tiranga Yatra, he said, reflects the deep-rooted patriotism among the people.

Naya Savera in J&K

LG Sinha said a “Naya Savera” (new dawn) has emerged in Jammu and Kashmir, with strong measures taken to eliminate terrorism and provide comprehensive support to families affected by terror-related violence. He announced that all pending terrorism-related killing cases will be re-examined to ensure justice.

Highlighting infrastructure development, the Lieutenant Governor said Kashmir has now been connected to the rest of the country through railway links, while express highways have significantly improved regional connectivity. He added that the effective implementation of centrally sponsored schemes has brought transformative changes across sectors.

Adopt clean energy

Urging citizens to adopt clean energy, LG Sinha encouraged people to install solar panels under the PM Surya Ghar Bijli Yojana, calling it a step toward sustainability and energy self-reliance.

He stated that Jammu and Kashmir is steadily moving toward peace, progress, and inclusive development under the collective efforts of the government and the people—(KNO)
