Admin fully prepared, let it snow: DC Srinagar on weather forecast

Srinagar, Jan 22: Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Akshay Labroo on Thursday said that the administration is fully prepared in view of the forecast for heavy rain and snowfall across Jammu and Kashmir.

Speaking with reporters on the sidelines of a function, Akshay Labroo, per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said that “we are only waiting for snow. Let it snow, we are fully prepared.”

The weather department has forecast heavy rain and snowfall, warning that two western disturbances in quick succession are likely to affect Jammu and Kashmir between January 22 and 24, and again from the night of January 26 to the forenoon of January 28.

It said that the first western disturbance is expected to be intense, with peak activity on January 23. Under the influence of these systems, widespread light to moderate rain and snowfall is expected across Jammu and Kashmir,” it said.

The Deputy Commissioner also said that Jammu and Kashmir is ready to celebrate the Republic Day on January 26 with patriotic zeal and passion—(KNO)
