
Jammu, Jan 20,: Senior officers of the Indian Army on Tuesday paid last tributes to Havildar Gajendra Singh of the Special Forces, who was killed in Kishtwar operation yesterday.
A Defense spokesperson said that Havildar Gajendra Singh made the supreme sacrifice during an ongoing operation in the Singpora area as part of Operation Trashi I. The solemn wreath laying ceremony was attended by senior Army officers, fellow soldiers and personnel who saluted the courage, dedication and selfless service of the fallen warrior.
He said the Special Forces soldier displayed exceptional bravery and professionalism while undertaking a challenging counter militancy mission in difficult terrain. His sacrifice, he said, reflects the highest traditions of the force and its unwavering commitment to safeguarding the nation.
The tricolour-draped coffin was accorded full military honours, with officers and troops standing in silence to honour the martyr. The Army said Havildar Gajendra Singh’s courage and supreme sacrifice will continue to inspire generations of soldiers.

The Indian Army expressed deep condolences to the bereaved family and reaffirmed its resolve to continue operations aimed at ensuring peace and security in the region.
