Minibus overturns near police post in Poonch, four injured

Poonch: At least four people sustained injuries on Thursday morning after a minibus overturned near the police post area of Chaktroo in Mandi area of Poonch district.

Officials said the minibus was on its way when the driver lost control of the vehicle near Chaktroo, causing it to turn turtle. The accident resulted in injuries to four occupants of the vehicle.

Soon after the incident, locals and police personnel rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Officials said all the injured are undergoing treatment and their condition is stable.

The injured have been identified as Ruksana Kouser, 35, wife of Tariq Khan of Trichal; Muhammad Hanief, 45, son of Muhammad Din of Sathra; Muhammad Tariq, 20, son of Muhammad Shoker of Mandi, who was working as the conductor; and Mehboob Ahmed, 30, son of Mohd Saleem, the driver of the minibus.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated an investigation to ascertain the cause of the accident. [KNT]
