Repeated Parole for Ram Rahim, Silence for Kashmiri Prisoners Shows a Division of Justice: AIP

AM News Network

Srinagar : Awami Itihaad Party (AIP) Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi on Wednesday alleged serious discrimination in the justice system, stating that many Kashmiri prisoners have spent decades behind bars without parole or meaningful review, while influential convicts elsewhere continue to receive repeated relief.

He cited cases such as Feroz Ahmad and Parvaiz Ahmad of Tral, both incarcerated for over 22 years and Abdul Majeed Baba of Sopore Fayaz Ahmad Lone of Kupwara and Bashir Ahmad Kunoo of Sopore each imprisoned for about 12 years saying their prolonged detention reflects denial of basic humanitarian consideration. “These are human lives, not files to be forgotten,” he said.

Contrasting their plight with the repeated parole granted to Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim, Inam Un Nabi said the disparity exposes an unequal system where justice appears selective. He demanded an immediate review of long-pending cases of Kashmiri prisoners lodged within and outside Jammu and Kashmir, urging authorities to apply the law uniformly and humanely. “Parole cannot be a privilege for a few and a denial for others simply because they are from Kashmir,” he added.
