No major Western Disturbance till Jan 20, only feeble systems expected, Significant snowfall unlikely in coming weeks

Srinagar, Jan 1,: There is no major Western Disturbance expected to affect the Kashmir region till January 20, with weather systems during this period likely to remain weak and feeble, according to prevailing weather assessments.

Meteorological analysis indicates that only a few weak Western Disturbances may pass through the region over the next two to three weeks. These systems are not expected to bring any widespread or significant precipitation, including snowfall, across the Kashmir Valley.

A Weather official told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that the absence of strong Western Disturbances means that the prevailing dry and cold conditions are likely to continue. ‘Night temperatures may remain low, particularly in higher reaches, while daytime temperatures could stay below normal in many areas due to limited solar heating during winter.’

The official added that weather patterns will continue to be monitored closely, and any change in the intensity or frequency of Western Disturbances will be communicated through official forecasts and advisories.
