Jammu: Security forces have launched search operations in the dense forests of the Bhalesa belt in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir.
An official said that the operations are aimed at rooting out potential militant threats before winter fully sets in and cuts off access to several remote pockets.
He added that the troops are navigating snowbound tracks, frozen forests, and concealed mountain hideouts amid sub-zero temperatures and snowfall. Despite the extreme conditions, search and surveillance operations are continuing without pause across vulnerable areas.
Search operations have also been underway in the Kishtwar forests. ‘Army units have expanded their operational reach into higher-altitude, the official said. [KNT]
