
Srinagar,Dec 22: Renowned broadcaster, columnist, writer, author and poet, Abdul Ahad Farhad, passed away suddenly in Jammu. As the news of his demise spread, a wave of grief swept through literary, journalistic and cultural circles across the region.
Abdul Ahad Farhad was a multifaceted personality who earned wide respect for his contributions to broadcasting and literature.
His thoughtful writing and dignified style of expression set him apart, making him a respected and admired voice of his time.
His passing is a profound loss for Asian Mail as well. Through the organization’s multimedia platform, Farhad hosted the literary programme “Bazm-e-Irfan,” which played a significant role in promoting literature and bringing many lesser-known poets into the public spotlight.
The mortal remains of Abdul Ahad Farhad are being brought from Jammu to Srinagar. His last rites will be performed today at Soura, Srinagar.
The literary world has lost a sincere, graceful and influential voice.
