Ramban Teacher Suspended for Alleged Objectionable Social Media Post

Ramban, Dec 11:
The Chief Education Office Ramban on Wednesday suspended a government school teacher under Rule 31 of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1956. The action followed allegations that the teacher had uploaded objectionable online content targeting a particular community.

According to the suspension order, Balwant Singh, Teacher Grade II posted at Government Primary School Killaseri in Batote Zone, has been placed under suspension with immediate effect. The order states that during the suspension period he will remain attached to the office of the Chief Education Officer Ramban.

Official sources told KNT that the decision was prompted by public concern after the social media posts surfaced. They said the content was considered insensitive and potentially harmful to communal harmony, prompting swift administrative action.

The suspension order, bearing number CEO/R/2025/32497-500, has been forwarded to the Director School Education Jammu and the District Development Commissioner Ramban for necessary information and further processing. [KNT]
