
Pulwama, Dec 11,: Pulwama Police have solved a major liv hvestock theft case by recovering 47 stolen sheep linked to FIR No. 282/2025 registered under sections 331(4) and 305 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The sheep were stolen from Banderpora during the intervening night of November 17 and 18 and were later traced to Kulan Kangan in Ganderbal.
Police said sustained investigation led to the arrest of two accused. They have been identified as Abdul Razak Bajad son of Muhammad Shafi of Kandiyal Akhnoor and Muhammad Jeelani Barghat son of Muhammad Zar of Dova Rajouri.
According to police, three other accused involved in the case are still evading arrest. They are Mushtaq Ahmad Khari son of Baugh Hussain of Thandi Choi Akhnoor, Nazakket Ahmad Bokda son of Muhammad Zubair of Akhnoor and presently living at Wahab Sahib Khrew, and Muhammad Jaleeni Barghat son of Muhammad Motwali of Sugli Gala Kalakot Rajouri. Efforts are underway to trace and apprehend the absconding accused.
Police added that the recovered livestock is being transported back to Pulwama for legal formalities and restoration to its rightful owner. Pulwama Police stated that they remain committed to protecting the property of locals and acting firmly against theft-related offences. [KNT]
