SSP Traffic Rural Launches Enforcement Drive Against Wrong Parking, Overloading

Kangan: SSP Traffic Rural Kashmir,  on Monday, warned of strict legal action against motorists violating traffic rules, saying that enforcement has been intensified across rural districts to curb congestion and prevent road accidents.

Accompanied by DSP Traffic Gulzar Ahmad, the SSP R.P. Singh conducted a special enforcement drive in the Kangan sub-district and imposed fines on drivers found violating traffic regulations. Officials said the action followed repeated complaints about traffic mismanagement and rule violations in the area.

Speaking to the news agency Kashmir News Trust, R.P. Singh said the Traffic Police had been receiving continuous complaints regarding wrong parking in Kangan market, where vehicles are being parked on both sides of the road, leading to frequent traffic jams. He said that the situation not only disrupts the flow of traffic but also creates serious difficulties for pedestrians.

The SSP said the Traffic Police Rural has accelerated its campaign against traffic violations in all districts, with a focus on ensuring smooth movement of vehicles and public safety. He urged drivers to park their vehicles only at designated places to avoid congestion in busy market areas.

Warning motorists, he said any vehicle found parked wrongly would attract strict legal action. He further said that complaints had also been received about overloading of vehicles and disregard for traffic norms, adding that drivers involved in overloading would be dealt with firmly under the law.

R.P. Singh said the intensified enforcement measures are aimed at preventing traffic accidents and ensuring that precious human lives are not lost due to negligence and violation of traffic rules. [KNT]
