Jammu, Dec 3,: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is scheduled to chair the first cabinet meeting in Jammu after the annual Darbar move today, with the Cabinet Sub Committee’s report on reservation figuring as a key agenda item.
Official sources said the meeting will take place in the Civil Secretariat Jammu. The cabinet is expected to deliberate on the report submitted by the Cabinet Sub-Committee on reservation, which has been examining various aspects of the reservation policy and related demands from different sections.
The report is likely to be presented and discussed in detail, with the cabinet expected to take a view on its recommendations. However, there was no official confirmation about whether any final decision on changes in reservation norms will be taken in today’s sitting.
Besides the reservation-related report, routine administrative matters and approvals are also expected to come up before the cabinet as it begins its first formal session in Jammu after the offices shifted from Srinagar under the Darbar move practice. [KNT]
