Police Raid Jamia Siraj-ul-Uloom Shopian, Jamia Islamia Handwara

Srinagar:Police on Thursday carried out raids at two Islamic educational institutes in different parts of Kashmir following inputs regarding suspected unlawful activities and possible links with banned organizations including Jamat-e-Islami.

Officials said one raid was conducted at Jamia Siraj-ul-Uloom in Hilo area of Imam Sahib in Shopian district, while the second operation took place at Jamia Islamia Institute in Waripora area of Handwara in North Kashmir.

During the raids, police seized electronic devices which are being examined to verify their usage and to establish any suspected affiliation with banned outfits. Authorities said the action forms part of an ongoing investigation.

Police said the operations were executed strictly within legal limits and with full procedural compliance, stressing that transparency and accountability are being maintained.
