Key meeting of NC’s top decision-making body begins in Srinagar

Srinagar:The National Conference (NC) two-day working committee meeting began today here at the party headquarters in Nawa-e-Subah. The meeting will be chaired by party president Farooq Abdullah, with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and other senior leaders in attendance.

Party sources told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that the meeting will deliberate on organisational affairs and ongoing political developments in J&K

Meanwhile, speaking with reporters, MLA Zadibal, Tanvir Sadiq said that Farooq Abdullah has convened a working committee meeting, which will discuss the prevailing circumstances and issues. “After two days, we will issue a formal statement to the media on what has been discussed in the meeting,” he said.

Responding to questions on prospects of organisational expansion or leadership changes, Sadiq said that such decisions are taken by the party leadership at an appropriate time. “Only the CM knows when and how to do his prorogation,” he said, adding that the discussion process is underway.

Meanwhile, NC leader Abdul Majeed Larmi confirmed that Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi has also been invited to the meeting, and it is his choice to attend—(KNO)
