Budgam, Nov 21,: An L&T machinery unit was destroyed in a fire during the intervening night of Thursday and Friday in the Pallar area of Cental Kashmir’s Budgam, prompting a police investigation into the cause of the blaze.

Locals told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that the incident occurred during the intervening night when the machine, parked at the site, suddenly caught fire. Inhabitants noticed the flames and immediately informed the police and Fire and Emergency Services.

The machine, owned by Tawseef Ahmad Joo, suffered extensive damage. Ahmad said the fire broke out without any warning and caused a major financial setback. He said there had been no sign of technical malfunction and sought a thorough investigation into the incident.

Budgam Police reached the spot soon after receiving the alert and assisted in controlling the situation. Authorities confirmed that no injuries or loss of life occurred. A case has been registered based on the complaint submitted by the owner.

The owner has submitted a formal complaint to the police alleging that the machinery was intentionally set ablaze by two individuals, both locals from Pallar Budgam.
