
Srinagar, Nov 1,: A high-level delegation of the Concerned Citizens’ Group (CCG) led by former Union Minister Yashwant Sinha called on Mirwaiz Dr. Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq at his Nigeen residence in Srinagar on Saturday and discussed a range of issues concerning peace, dialogue, and public welfare in Jammu and Kashmir.
The delegation included Air Vice Marshal (Retd.) Kapil Kak, senior journalist Bharat Bhushan, and social activist Sushobha Barve. The meeting, held in a cordial atmosphere, focused on the importance of sustained engagement between different stakeholders and the need to address humanitarian issues, including the situation of political detainees and public hardships.
During the interaction, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq expressed appreciation for the CCG’s continued concern for the people of Jammu and Kashmir and reiterated that dialogue, empathy, and understanding remain the most effective means to achieve peace and reconciliation.
Both sides underscored the significance of continued outreach and communication in building mutual trust and creating a conducive environment for long-term stability and hope in the region. [KNT]
