Srinagar, Nov 1,: Aspirants appearing for the JKSSB Junior Engineer (Civil) examination have expressed serious concern over the timing of the test, which coincides with a scheduled highway blockade on November 2 in connection with the movement of Darbar Move employees, making travel difficult for candidates coming from various parts of Jammu and Kashmir.
Candidates said the highway restrictions and the movement of government convoys could lead to major transportation hurdles, especially for those traveling long distances to reach their designated examination centers. Many fear delays and disruptions may prevent them from reaching the venues on time.
“The authorities should have taken the situation into account before fixing the date. With the Jammu–Srinagar Highway closed for Darbar Move traffic on the same day, reaching examination centers could become nearly impossible for several aspirants,” said one candidate from south Kashmir.
Several aspirants have appealed to the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) to consider rescheduling the examination in view of the expected traffic restrictions and logistical difficulties. They said the situation, if unaddressed, could unfairly disadvantage candidates who have spent months preparing for the competitive test. [KNT]
