Student critically injured in Bandipora accident

Shadipora : A teenage student was critically injured after being hit by a car near Higher Secondary School Shadipora in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Wednesday.

Reports said that the accident occurred when an Etios vehicle, struck a pedestrian near the school.

The victim, identified as 17-year-old Ishfaq Ali Dar, son of Nisar Ahmad Dar of Yaal Pattan, sustained critical injuries in the mishap. He was immediately shifted to JVC Hospital Bemina, Srinagar, for advanced medical treatment.

Police sources said that the vehicle involved in the accident has been identified and further investigation has been initiated to ascertain the circumstances leading to the incident.

Locals said the area has witnessed frequent traffic movement during school hours, urging authorities to deploy traffic personnel near educational institutions to ensure the safety of students. [KNT]
