‘Avoid Spreading Falsehoods’: Ruhullah Mehdi’s Office Slams Portals Over Misleading Claims

Budgam, Oct 17,: The Office of Member Parliament Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi dismissed social media reports suggesting that the Shia leader had made remarks related to the ongoing Budgam elections.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the office clarified that Ruhullah Mehdi had not issued any statement regarding the Budgam polls and criticised certain online portals for spreading unverified claims.

“The rush to be ‘first’ often comes at the cost of being right,” the post read. “A few self-styled ‘news’ portals declaring exclusives on political alignments might want to pause before they mislead and embarrass themselves. Hon’ble MP Ruhullah Mehdi has not made any statement today regarding the Budgam elections.”

The clarification came after several unverified social media pages circulated speculative claims suggesting that Mehdi had expressed his stance on political alliances concerning Budgam. [KNT]
