Pakistani Drone Sighted Along International Border in Samba, Forces Launch Search Operatio

Jammu: Security forces were put on high alert after a suspected Pakistani drone was sighted along the International Border in the Samba sector of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.

According to sources, the aerial object was detected by troops of the Border Security Force (BSF) during the early hours near the Regal post in Samba. The troops reportedly noticed blinking lights in the sky coming from the Pakistan side and immediately opened fire in an attempt to bring it down.

Soon after the sighting, BSF personnel and police jointly launched a massive search operation in the adjoining villages and border belts to locate any possible payload or dropped material. The area was cordoned off, and night vision equipment was used to trace the object’s movement.

Officials said that despite an intensive search, nothing suspicious had been recovered till the last reports came in. However, the operation continued throughout the morning, with additional reinforcements deployed to sweep the area. [KNT]
