Body of Budgam Man Found in Srinagar

Srinagar: The body of a man from Budgam district was found in the Parimpora area of Srinagar, triggering a police investigation into the circumstances of his death.

Police said the deceased has been identified as Firdous Ahmad Hajam, a resident of Budgam. The body was spotted by locals near the roadside in Parimpora, following which police were informed.

A police team from Parimpora Police Station reached the spot soon after receiving the information and took possession of the body. The area was subsequently examined, and forensic samples were collected as part of the preliminary investigation.

Officials said the body has been taken to a nearby hospital for medico-legal formalities, including a post-mortem, to ascertain the cause of death.

“Initial proceedings have been taken up, and the cause of death will be confirmed only after the autopsy report is received,” a police officer said. [KNT]
