Now Kargil Democratic Alliance withdraws from talks with Centre

Srinagar:: Just a day after the Apex Body Leh (ABL) withdrew from talks with the Centre, the Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA) on Tuesday said it will also not take part in talks with the government until key demands are met.

Addressing a press conference, per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the Alliance called for an impartial judicial investigation into the death of four civilians in Leh on September 24.

KDA co-chairperson Asgar Ali Karbalai said that the alliance would not return to the negotiating table until their key demands are addressed, which include the unconditional release of those detained, halting of further arrests, and a judicial probe into the Leh firing incident.

He criticised the narrative being pushed by certain sections labeling Ladakhi voices as “anti-national,” stating that those standing up for the rights of Ladakh cannot be dismissed with such baseless accusations.

“Sonam Wangchuk is a respected figure, not just in Ladakh but across the nation,” he said.

The Centre on Monday said it is always ready for dialogues on Ladakh matters and to engage with both the KDA and ABL on key issues—(KNO)
