Pregnant woman found “mysteriously” dead in Langate, probe launched

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir police have launched a probe after a six-month pregnant woman was allegedly found under “mysterious” circumstances in Wahipora locality of Langate, officials said.

An official told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the woman was found dead under “mysterious” circumstances inside her home late last evening.

The family members, who held a protest demonstration, alleged that she has been murdered, demanding a thorough probe into the incident and action against the culprits.

The official said they have taken cognisance of the matter and a probe has been launched to ascertain facts.

“The body of the woman was shifted to a nearby hospital for medico-legal formalities and later handed over to the family for last rites”, he said—(KNO)
