Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Visits Sopore for Condolence Meeting

Sopore: Hurriyat Conference leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Saturday visited the residence of veteran separatist leader Professor Abdul Gani Bhat at Batangoo Sopore to offer condolences, officials and locals confirmed.

The visit drew the attention of locals in the area, with many gathering outside the residence to witness the meeting. Mirwaiz, who has been active in condolence gatherings of prominent political and social figures in the Valley, expressed solidarity with the family of Professor Bhat and conveyed sympathies over their recent bereavement.

Family members of Professor Bhat received Mirwaiz at the house, where brief interactions were held. Sources said that the meeting was informal and primarily meant to express support during the mourning period.

Professor Abdul Gani Bhat, a senior figure in separatist politics, had maintained a significant role in the political landscape of Jammu and Kashmir for decades.
