LG Manoj Sinha Hails New Criminal Laws as Pillars of Justice,“New Laws Ensure Equality, Justice for Women and Children”

Srinagar, Sep 11,: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday addressed a public awareness programme on the newly introduced criminal laws at J&K Police Public School, Bemina, describing them as pro-people and pro-justice.
Speaking on the occasion, the LG said the new legal framework has been designed to ensure complete justice for all, with special emphasis on protecting the rights of women and children. “Justice is the foundation of any society, and these new criminal laws are the pillars of justice which propagate equality and impartiality. The objective is to guarantee justice for everyone,” he stated.
The LG highlighted that the laws were compiled after meticulous efforts, with a strong forensic chapter incorporated into the justice system to make it more robust and credible. He expressed satisfaction that people are becoming increasingly aware of the changes.
“For the last three decades, Jammu and Kashmir lived in a dark age where there was a lack of a proper criminal justice system. Today, the system has been made active and accessible, ensuring that everyone gets justice,” Sinha remarked.
The LG underscored that the new laws will not only strengthen public confidence in the justice system but also mark a decisive step towards building an equitable society in the Union Territory. [KNT]
