Weather Update J&K: Cloudy skies, Light rain likely today; fresh spell expected on Sept 13

Srinagar, Sept 08: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar on Monday issued a detailed weather forecast for Jammu and Kashmir, predicting cloudy conditions with spells of light rain and thunder at many places today. Some districts of Jammu division may also witness brief moderate showers.

The MeT as per news agency Kashmir Indpeth News Service (KINS) said that from September 9 to 12, the weather is expected to remain generally hot and humid across the Union Territory, with occasional brief spells of rain or thunder at a few places.

A fresh spell of light to moderate rain and thundershowers is likely to affect many parts of J&K on September 13, particularly during the early morning hours.

The MeT Centre has cautioned about the possibility of landslides and shooting stones at vulnerable spots and urged people to stay away from water bodies, river embankments, and loose structures.

Farmers have been advised to carry out harvesting of paddy and other farm operations from September 9 onwards, taking advantage of the relatively stable weather in the coming days.(KINS)
