Water level of major Jhelum tributaries recedes below danger mark, Jhelum at Lasjan falls by one foot, brings relief to residents

Srinagar, Sep 4,: The water level of all major tributaries of River Jhelum including Vishow Nallah, Lidder, Doodhganga, and Rambiyara Nallah has receded and is now flowing below the danger mark.

Officials said the River Jhelum near Lasjan, a stretch considered highly vulnerable to flooding, has also shown improvement with its level dropping by at least one foot, bringing relief to residents of the area.

Some locals, however, expressed concern that water might enter Lasjan by evening. They maintained that even if it happens, the intensity will remain low and will not be comparable to the devastating floods of 2014. [KNT]
