Two arrested for alleged sacrilege act in Poonch

Poonch, Sep 1,: Police on Monday arrested two individuals for their alleged involvement in an act of sacrilege in Kuniyan area of Poonch district.

According to a police spokesperson, a vehicle used to commit the act has also been seized. The accused have been booked under Section 299 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which pertains to deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings.

Police said a search operation is underway to trace and arrest other individuals suspected to be involved in the case.

Authorities assured that strict legal action will follow and appealed to the public to maintain peace and cooperate with the investigation. [KNT]
