Poonch:The body of a seven-year-old girl who was swept away in a stream in Surankote area of Poonch district has been recovered, officials said on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Asiya Kauser, daughter of Mushtaq Ahmad, a resident of Marah. She was washed away yesterday in a stream at Dhoke Umrah, Bankasi.
Following the incident, teams of police, SDRF personnel and local volunteers launched a search operation. After sustained efforts, her body was retrieved this morning from Shidhara area, officials said.
Police have taken cognisance of the matter. [KNT]
