Budgam: A 21-year-old youth lost his life after suffering an electric shock while bathing at his home in Houshonag Bagarpora area of Ichgam in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

Local sources said the incident occurred due to the collapse of a low-tension (LT) electric line in the vicinity. The victim died on the spot, triggering panic in the area.

The deceased has been identified as Zeeshan Ahmed.

Another individual sustained critical injuries in the same incident and was initially taken to a nearby health facility. Given the seriousness of his condition, doctors referred him to SMHS Hospital in Srinagar for specialised treatment. [KNT]
