Baramulla: In a move aimed at ensuring uninterrupted healthcare services and minimizing disruptions in patient care, the Office of the Medical Superintendent, Associated Hospital GMC Baramulla, has issued strict regulations on the entry of Medical Representatives (MRs) within hospital premises.
The order, issued on July 18, 2025, states that no Medical Representative will be allowed to visit doctors or hospital sections before 3:30 PM on any working day. The directive comes in response to frequent and untimely visits by MRs to Out-Patient Departments (OPDs), wards, and other areas during consultation hours, reportedly hampering the healthcare delivery system.
The order strictly warns that any MR violating the 3:30 PM rule will be barred from visiting the hospital permanently under relevant provisions. Additionally, any hospital staff found entertaining MRs before the stipulated time will face disciplinary action.
Heads of Departments and Section Incharges have been instructed to ensure strict compliance within their respective domains. Security personnel and gate staff have also been directed to enforce the order by maintaining a proper record of all visiting MRs, including time and purpose of visit.
“This order is issued in the interest of better patient care and hospital discipline and shall come into immediate effect,” the notice concludes.
The directive has been circulated to all relevant administrative and hospital authorities for enforcement. [KNT]
