CIK Raids Multiple Locations Across Kashmir Valley

Srinagar, July 19,: In a major operation linked to ongoing investigations into activities that pose threats to public order and national security, the Counter-Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) unit of Jammu and Kashmir Police carried out extensive searches at multiple locations across four districts of the Kashmir Valley on Saturday.

According to official sources, the searches were conducted at 10 different locations: one in Pulwama district, six in Ganderbal, one in Srinagar, and two in Budgam. The coordinated operation was carried out in the early hours and involved teams of CIK personnel backed by local police units.

The officials said that the searches were aimed at retrieving incriminating material, both digital and physical, that may aid in the investigation of cases related to militancy, financing, and suspected links with separatist elements. Sources indicate that the searches are part of a larger crackdown on networks believed to be aiding or abetting anti-national activities.

In Ganderbal district, which witnessed the highest number of raids, the action focused on locations suspected to be linked with individuals under surveillance for their alleged role in anti-national activities. Similar operations were also undertaken in Srinagar’s outskirts and selected areas in Budgam and Pulwama, each chosen based on inputs developed during ongoing investigations.

A senior police officer confirmed the raids but refrained from revealing the identities of those being questioned or the nature of materials seized, citing the sensitivity of the operation. “The operation was intelligence-based and remains a part of a larger effort to dismantle support networks that threaten peace and order in the region,” the official said.
